Kodiak Elects Brigadier General (Ret) Richard L. Ursone to Board of DirectorsDonald Pagel, President and CEO of Kodiak Thermal Technologies, Inc., announced that on January 16, 2006 Brigadier General (Ret) Richard L. Ursone had been elected to Kodiak’s board of directors. Currently a Senior Manager of BearingPoint, Inc., BG (Ret) Rich Ursone has extensive medical logistics and healthcare operations experience spanning over thirty years of service in the United States Army. At BearingPoint, he has been involved in numerous efforts spanning the healthcare, supply chain and technology areas to include: medical simulation and training of combat medics, electronic capture of medical information for deployed service members, digitization of medical records and efforts to integrate supply chain practices for government clients. BG Ursone holds a Master of Science degree in Education from the University of Southern California, a Master in Business Administration from Trinity University in Texas and a Master’s in Strategic Resources Management, the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF), National Defense University.
Kodiak Signs Distributor for Europe
Kodiak Thermal Technologies, Inc. has signed a five-year distributor agreement with Kern Frio, S.A. of Barcelona, Spain for the distribution of Kodiak products in the European Union.
Kodiak and Kern Frio have had a long relationship of working together in the European marketplace. In December, Donald Pagel, Kodiak CEO and Win Eastman, Kodiak CTO attended the International Contract Pharmaceutical Convention in Madrid, Spain with Joan Orriols, General Manager of Kern Frio. During this convention, Kodiak and Kern finalized their relationship.
Kern Frio is a wholly owned subsidiary of InduKern, S.A. InduKern also owns a pharmaceutical manufacturer by the name of Kern Pharma, S.A. in Spain. Kern Frio specializes in logistics and transportation of perishables and temperature sensitive goods through the use of proprietary and creative packaging solutions. Through its relationship with InduKern, Kern Frio has distribution centers all through the EU to better serve its customers.

The Kodiak Container comes fully equipped with an Onboard Temperature Logger (Escort iLog On-Board Logger) that monitors inside and ambient temperature throughout the entirety of your shipments. The sensing device in the Escort logger is a thermistor. Thermistors are very accurate electronic devices that change resistance as the temperature of the thermistor changes. The Escort logger measures the resistance of its thermistor and calculates the temperature based on that resistance. Thermistors are very reliable and durable and rarely have accuracy problems. Thermistor accuracy and stability has improved considerably in recent times, and the temperature drift over a ten year period is quoted as less than 0.02° C.
